Start with the intended surface
Explain whether the project is a patio, walkway or driveway. Stamping describes a finish; it does not replace the design needed for the surface’s actual use. Confirm that you are requesting a new installation. Coating, overlay, resurfacing and repair-only work are not presented here as supported connection services.
Compare a physical sample
Ask the installer how the chosen pattern, base color and accent color are demonstrated. Lighting, curing and sealer can influence appearance. Discuss how the design will meet edges, steps and control joints. A photograph can introduce an idea, but it is not a promise that your installed result will be identical.
Make maintenance part of the decision
Ask about the proposed sealer, cleaning method, wet-use traction and future care. A finish you like should also fit the way the surface will be used. Get the care requirements in writing and compare them with a simpler textured finish before deciding.
Keep the quote specific
Request separate scope descriptions for preparation, concrete placement, decorative treatment, joints and any sealer. Identify exclusions and the process for approving a change. A lower total is not comparable if one proposal omits work the other includes. Use the estimate guide to make differences visible.
Questions to put in the proposal
- Which sample represents the proposed pattern and color?
- How are joints integrated into the pattern?
- What care and sealer upkeep are expected?
- What happens if weather changes the installation plan?
Compare the written scope and use the volume planner for preliminary geometry. For local preparation, read the Huntsville guide.
