Different finishes, shared groundwork
Scroll the diagram sideways to read every label.
A simpler finish can be a deliberate choice
A plain textured finish focuses on a consistent usable surface. Ask how texture, edges and visible joints will be handled. Look at samples and talk about the conditions in which the surface will be used. A generic promise of slip resistance is not a substitute for discussing a particular finish.
Decorative choices add decisions
Stamped work introduces pattern, color, border and sealer choices. Ask what maintenance is expected and how color variation and future care will be addressed. Compare a real sample with the surrounding house materials rather than relying on a small online image.
Keep the underlying project constant
Both options still need appropriate site preparation, levels and joints. Compare them on the same footprint and intended use. If a quote changes the preparation as well as the finish, ask why before choosing. This site’s scope is new installation; decorative resurfacing of an existing slab is not represented as eligible.
